Sandasiri Dunuwila Village

We are Sri Lanka. So we have our culture too. Since several communities are living in our country. They have respective cultures as well.

So many things come under one’s culture. Such as religion, apparel, the way of living and customs. As for as Sri Lanka concerned, we have so many cultural heritages, for instance Sigiriya which is considered to be the eighth wonder of the world and the temple of tooth relic which is situated in Kandy.

As for as Sinhalese culture is concerned, we have a long history which is believed to have begun from the arrival of King Wijaya. Our Sinhalese culture has a close relationship with Buddhism as well.

The culture we have today is a bit different than we had in the past. That is, our culture is getting westernized gradually which is bad in certain ways. The means of living, apparels and customs have greatly of affected due to the western culture.

Some people are of the opinion that our culture has deteriorated in certain ways.  As Sri Lanka all communities Sinhalese, Muslims and Tamil must determine too protect their respective cultures.

MY SCHOOL

 My school name is Sandasiri Dunuwila Maha Bodhi Viduhala. There are an about thousand students in my school. My principal is Mr. Jayarathna. There are twenty teachers in my school. They are very good. There is a large play ground in the school. There are three buildings, a canteen and a library in my school. I like to study in my school. I wish my school develop day by day.

My name is Nadeeka Kumari Wasala. I am eleven years old. My birth day is on the 31^st August 1994. I am in grade eight. My school is Dunuwila Maha Bodhi Vidyalaya. I have two brothers and no sisters. My brother likes painting. My father’s name is Sarath Chandrasiri. My mother’s name is Karunawathi Menike. My father is a farmer.

My favourite subjects are Sinhala and science. My best friend is Chandrika Samanmali. My favourite sport is netball. My class teacher’s name is Bovaththa.

One day I want to be a teacher.

Grade eight

My village name is Meegahalanda. It is very beautiful and clean. It is a serene village. The cold breeze which blows over my village is good to health.

My village is a self sustained are jack, coconut, vegetable and fruits are main cultivation here.

The people in my village drink milk. They are very healthy. To satisfy the needs of the villages there are a bazaar, a dispensary and a temple.

I love my village.
